Anything that runs on your own CPU is free, with no account and no time limit. Anything we run for you, on our build machines or our AI key, is what the paid plan pays for.

There is one paid plan and one number.

Seats are never charged. Invite the whole team, and an agent is not a seat.

  • The compile and run loop on code.extension.dev, which is esbuild-wasm on your own CPU.
  • A limited number of AI generations on code.extension.dev, with no account, run on our model key.

100 builds a month, 25 of them started by a git push

  • One project, imported from a GitHub repo or started from a template.
  • AI generation on code.extension.dev, with a daily ceiling. The console shows the number, and the number moves while the platform is free.
  • 100 builds a month, from the console, the CLI, the API or a git push.
  • 25 of those 100 can fire on their own, from a git push. After the twenty-fifth, a push stops building and the console still builds that same commit, free.
  • extension publish, and preview links that stay live for 30 days.
  • Build logs, artifacts, environment variables and secrets.
  • Teammates, invites and access tokens.
  • Store submission by hand from the console, for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Safari builds and App Store submissions are one paid lane.

  • Up to 10 projects instead of one.
  • Preview links that live a year instead of a month.
  • A higher daily ceiling on AI generation.

Why the free allowance is 100 builds

A build on our machines costs us about four cents in CI minutes. One hundred of them is a little over three dollars a month, which we would rather give away than meter.

A build you start yourself is one you are watching. A build that fires on its own is not, so we give you twenty-five a month and stop. Push twenty-six does not build, nothing is charged, and clicking Build in the console runs that same commit free.

How to get on the paid plan

There is no checkout on this page yet. Billing is not self-serve while the platform is free, and we would rather write that here than give you a button that goes nowhere.
